Abstract


This study was conducted with the ann of assessment of personality profile, i.e. characteristic personality traits and I or disorders in patients with depressive disorders compared to that in patients with anxiety disorders The worl<: consisted of two parts: theoretical and practical:

The Theoretical part:

This part consisted of a review of literature on the subject of personality disorders with particular reference to its relations with other psychiatric disorders particularly anxiety and depressive disorders. It consisted of two sections:

A-Section 1: including personality disorders which consisted of four chapters.

The first chapter was concerned with concepts and definitions of personality disorders. The problems facing definition of personality disorder and the dimensional and categorical classifications of personality disorders.

Chapter two reviewed the epidemiology of personality disorders that concerned with the prevalence of personality disorders in the primary care and its comorbidity with axis I disorders.

The third chapter mentioned the different methods in assessment of personality disorders with a brief report about the advantages and disadvantages of each method.
