Hydrogen peroxide reacted with 3- (p-chloro phenyl)-1-(2'-naphthyl) prop-2-en-1-one (1) in alkaline medium to produce 3-(p-chlorophenyl)-1-(2'-naphthyl)-2, 3-epoxypropanone (2)
