A Study for the Prevalence of Pulmonary Hypertension in Patients With Chronic Renal Failure

HAMED SHAKER NEGM;

Abstract

Pulmonary calcification may occur in uremic patients and may adversely affect both pulmonary functions and pulmonary pressure.
Our study was performed on a cohort of 51 uremic
patients on regular hemodialysis program. Serum calcium, phosphorous and parathormone were measured, echo-Doppler to

estimate PASP and 99

Tc-MDP lung SPECT to estimate the

presence of pulmonary calcification. 15 patient ( 29.4%) had pulmonary hypertension, and 66.6% of our patients had pulmonary calcification and there was no correlation between pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary calcification.
