RECENT MODALITIES OF ABDOMINOPLASTY

Abstract
Abdominoplasty is aesthetic body contouring surgery provides improvement and transformation of a patient’s body to one with desirable shape and contour while simultaneously achieving the elevation of a patient’s spirit.
Abdominoplasty has been performed for more than 110 years. During this time, many significant advancements of this procedure have been developed.
The anatomy of the abdominal wall is both straightforward and elegant. A thorough knowledge of the vascular source, the innervation, the lymphatics, as well as the deep and superficial structures of the abdominal wall is important for performing abdominoplasty and abdominal contouring procedures.
Most importantly, knowledge of the vascular supply to the abdominal soft tissue as well as the superficial soft-tissue structures, specifically Scarpa’s fascia, is critical to safely achieve an optimum aesthetic result.
Endoscopic abdominoplasty is a unique abdominal contouring procedure representing less than 5% of abdominoplasty procedures. It is ideal for the patient who presents with relatively normal weight, excess abdominal adiposity, muscular laxity and diastasis, and little or no soft-
