Abstract
Chronic liver diseases consider as a major health problem that affect individual and community socioeconomic status.
Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF}is a cytokine with numerous biological functions, it is produced by liver non parenchrymal cells as well as mesenchymal cells in most tissues, it is a very potent hepatocyte mitogen that stimulate DNA synthesis and hepatic regeneration after viral, ischaemic or toxic insults.
