Abstract

Violence is one of the pressing realities in psychiatric setting. Inpatients' aggression has been identified as a clinical problem.
The consequences of aggression affect everyone with

immediate or tangible contact with the act. Patients, staff, visitors, or students may be injured emotionally and/or physically. Property destruction is a constant reminder until repaired. Apart from the physical and psychological consequences, in-patients' aggression has considerable financial implications.
The message which comes out clearly form the phenomenon of violence, that there is an epidemiology of violence, and that by learning to understand the causes of violence we can little by little arrive at ways to prevent it. Violence doesn't "just happen" it's a progressive cycle, one can trace to a specific event. Some factors have disrupted the patient's calm and made him/her exhibit aggressive behaviors.
Thus, the present study aimed at identifying factors triggering psychiatric in-patients' aggression.
