GENETIC STUDIES ON THE MOLECULAR BIOLOGY BASES OF SALINITY STRESS ON BARLEY (Hordeum vulgare L.)

Abstract

This study was carried out in the research farm, greenhouse and laboratories of the Plant Genetic Resources Department, Ecology and Dryland Division, Desert Research Center, EI­ Mataria, Cairo and the laboratories of the Ain Shams Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ACGEB), Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, Shoubra EI-Kheima, Egypt, during the period from 1994 to 2000, to study some physiological and molecular parameters underlying relative salt tolerance of five barley cultivars.
