Abstract
N eon atal peri od which started from birth to twenty eight days of life presents the greatest risk to newborn infants. However, during this period the baby is adjusting to life outside the womb.
Every newborn infant has physiological needs that must be m et m oth ers also hav e needs, w hich are u sually psyc h ol og i ca l and edu cational. Furthermore, mothers need to
l earn about th eir babies for l ov ing care, nutrition, safety, cl ea nliness, clothing and health care. So increasingly we are seeing m others as "Health Care Agencies" responsible for provi si on and maintenance of health of their members.
