Sonographic Evaluation of Peri and Post Menopausal Bleeding

Abstract

During a period of 24 months, One hundred twenty six ladies were examined sonographically, their ages ranged from 35 to 68 years. T ey were complaining of peri or postmenopausal bleeding and all were examind at the Radiodiagnosis department Ain Shams University Hospitals. 32 Cc.ses were of ovarian origin, 69 of corpal uterine origin, 24 of cervical origin and 1 case of vaginal origin. Results ofthe study illustrated higher diagnostic capability of the transvaginal sonography which over comes many of the limitations ofthe transabdominal sonography since it is performed with a high frequency and near field focused transducer.
