Abstract

The first aim ofthe present study is to elucidate the safe side of the tissue culture rinderpest vaccine (TCRPV) on some blood parameters, liver fimction, kidney fLmction, and the leucocytic enzymatic activities. For the clearance of tllis, 21 male balady (of 1-2 years old age) susceptible sheep (free from rinderpest and PPR antibodies) were used, 14 animals were vaccinated with the field dose of TCRPV (1ml S/C) for each animals, the other 7 animals were vaccinated wit11100 field dose ofTCRPV (1ml S/C).

The results of tllis work revealed the following :

1. TCRPV did not reflect any change in body temperature.

2. The vaccinated animals (both groups) ex!J.ibited good irmmmity fourth week post ir10culation, where the level of rir1derpest neutralizir1g antibody
titre reached its peal< (0.81 ± 0.05 ir1 the anirnals vaccir1ated with tl1e field
dose and (1.07 ± 0.05) log10/ml) in the second group.

3. The blood pictme values ofvaccir1ated sheep (botl1 groups) showed no sig1J.ificant changes ir1 the haemoglobin, red cells cmmts, packed cell volmne and erythrocyte sedirnentation rate.

4. There were a sig1lificant increas•e in total leucocytic cmmts reached to

12.174 ± 0.3 thousands/mm3 first group and (12.481 ± 0.44)
thousands/1mn3 in the second group accompanied with lymphocytosis and neutropenia on the fourth week post ir10culation.
