Design Novel Optical Nano Collectors for Simultaneous Determination and Removal of Ultra-Trace Toxic Metals

Abstract

The fabricated PAN sensor has a high affectability for detection and determination of Cd2+ion. The results showed that the sensor can recognize and determine the Cd2+ions at the presence of multi-metal ions in the water samples.

The color formation gave an additional preferred standpoint to the sensor in simple and simultaneous colorimetric detection of Cd2+ions without utilizing highly sophisticated instruments. The detection limit of the designed sensor for detection by Uv–vis spectrophotometer was 0.53 μg/L (4.7 × 10−9 mol/L) and thus give the sensor the benefit of the Cd2+ion determination in drinking water. Additionally, the utilizing of current innovations as scanners and digital cameras and PC programming such as Adobe Photoshop CCare showed an execution and a great affectability with detection limit of 0.76 μg/L (6.7 × 10−9 mol/L). The analyses and the results demonstrated that the sensor can be utilized as a simple pre-concentrator with high effectiveness and high adsorption capacity. From these results, it can be inferred that the sensor has a decent potential application on the water purification, giving extraordinary sensitivity and fast time response in detection of Cd2+ion.
