Abstract


Recent advances in laparoscopic surgery have provided reliable alternative approaches for surgical problems, and smce the first laparoscopic cholecystectomy carried out by Mouret in 1987, this operation resulted in extremely rapid expansion of the technique of minimal access surgery. Nowadays, laparoscopic cholecystectomy has become the operation of choice for uncomplicated gallstone disease. The indications and the assessment of risk for this procedure have undergone continuous
modification. The number of absolute

contraindications to laparqscopic cholecystectomy has decreased dramatically by improved techniques and experience in order to expand the benefits of this procedure to the risk patient either surgical, medical or both.
This study was conducted to evaluate the clinical and surgical outcome of laparoscopic cholecystectomy in surgical and medical risk patients.
