AHMED MOHAMED AHMED MOHAMED;
Abstract
Spinal anesthesia is performed now for more than 100 years, and many local:;J.nesthetic agents have been used, but none is ideal. The ideal local anesthetic for spinal anesthesia should provide reversible degree of sensory and motor block, little hemodynamic and respiratory impairment • and rio neurotoxic effects.
Recently, there is new interest in the use of magnesium sulfate in the intrathecal route. The early clinical reports of its use were later reinforced by experimental studies. Therefore, we performed this study to evaluate the esthetic effects of intrathecal magnesium sulfate on a new animal modei, the rabbit.
