Ahmed Mohamed El-Bara;

Abstract

The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the utilization of

the free radial forearm flap for management of post-burn deformities of the face and neck in comparison with other methods.

The rev1ew of literature described the anatomy of free radial forearm flap, operative technique, technical difficulties and other methods for treatment.

Ten cases were managed in this thesis by different modalities of surgical treatment, 2 cases by skin graft, 2 cases by local flaps, one case by pectoral myocutaneous flap, 3 cases by tissue expanders, and 2 cases by free radial forearm flap.

The results were satisfactory for the patients except one case of the free radial forearm flap which was completely failed and replaced by thick split thickness skin graft and other
case of split thickness skin graft as the patient needs other

procedures to treat other hypertrophic scars on the face.
