Permeability of radon-222 through some materials

Arafa, Wafaa;

Abstract

The diffusion of222Rn through different types of membrane has been studied using activated charcoal technique. The permeability constant and the relative radon permeability for 16 different types of materials (aluminized polymers, polymers, papers, glass) have been measured. The results are in good agreement with previously reported data for a similar membrane. The effect of membrane thickness on the permeability constant of Bisphenol-A polycarbonate and Polyethylene has been discussed. © 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
