Integrating Linguistics and Literature in EFL Classes
Abdeen, Azza;
Abstract
This research paper discusses the possibility of integrating linguistics and literature in EFL classes and presents teachers of English language and literature with a demonstration analysis of a short dramatic scene. The researcher claims that the language of literary texts can prove helpful to language learning. If students are exposed constantly to reading literature, their literary and language competence will improve because literature provides a rich context in which linguistic, extra linguistic and cultural aspects are made use of.
