Big Five Factors of Personality its Relationship with Psychological Resilience among the Teachers Students

Abstract


The study aimed to explore relationship between the big five factor of personality and psychological resilience among the Teachers Students.
addition, the study will determine differences in the five big factors of personality and psychological resilience in some variables, including( Gender, Specialization).
The sample of the study consisted of (313) of them 84 were males and 229 female students who are enrolled in the first semester of the academic year 2013 – 2014. For data collection, the researcher used theNEO Five Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI-S) personality inventory (Costa & McCrae, 1992) and the psychological resilience scale (prepared by the researcher). To ensure reliability and validity of the study instruments, a pilot study was conducted 250 teachers students. To get the results, the researcher used, percentage, means, (t) test, Pearson correlation
Results of the study showed that there was a positive relationship between conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, openness on experience and psychological resilience while the relationship was negative between neuroticism and psychological resilience.
-Concerning differences in the five big factors, the results revealed that there were no significant differences statistically among students in conscientiousness, extraversion, and openness to experience except neuroticism, agreeableness, the total score favor of female students
-Also, there were no significant differences in big factor of personality
relation specialization except openness to experience favor of specialization literacy
-Concerning differences in the psychological resilience the results revealed that there were no significant differences statistically in relation to Gender, Specialization.

There were of statistically significant at the level (0,01) for the coefficients regression conscientiousness, neuroticism, and extraversion, openness to experience, while there were no statistically significant agreeableness and is limited to the value of beta between (0228 conscientiousness, and(-0.370) neuroticism, (0.38) , extraversion, (0, 467( openness to experience was (R2 = 0.37), and this means the variables Conscientiousness. Extraversion. Neuroticism, openness on experience explains (37 %) of the variance in the total score of the psychological resilience, and can be predictive psychological resilience as follows:
Psychological Resilience = 73, 97 + 0,228 × Conscientiousness-0,370 neuroticism + 0, 38 × Extraversion + 0,467 × openness on experience

In conclusion, the results of the study reflect the need to for attention personality traits and psychological resilience to Teachers Students, who are the corner stone for building the modern society. in order to have teachers who are capable to face the future challenges.
