The Effectiveness of a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Program for Reducing the Future Anxiety Level and Improving the Feeling of Self-efficacy among a Sample of University Youth

Abstract
The current study aimed to investigate the effect of a cognitive behavioral Therapy program in reducing the level of future anxiety, and to improve the feeling of self-efficacy among a sample of university youth.
The psychometric sample of study included (78) of university students from Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University. The final sample included (20) students divided into two groups: the experimental group, and control group; (10) students each.
The researcher used the following tools:
1. The future anxiety Scale among university students (Prepared by the researcher).
2. The General Self-Efficacy Scale (Prepared by Schwarzer and Jerusalem, 1981) which was translated and Arabized by (the researcher).
3. Family socioeconomic level scale (Prepared by/ Abd ElAziz Elshakhs, 2006).
4. A Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Program (Prepared by the researcher).
The study results were as follows:
1. There are statistically significant differences between the ranks of mean scores of the experimental group and those of the control group on the future anxiety scale and on the general self-efficacy scale in favor of the experimental group.
2. There are statistically significant differences between the ranks of mean scores of the experimental group on the future anxiety scale and the general self-efficacy scale in the pre- and post- measurement in favor of the post measurement.
3. There are no statistically significant differences between the ranks of mean scores of the experimental group in the post measurement and their ranks of mean scores in the follow-up measurement on the future anxiety scale and the general self-efficacy scale.
According to the aforementioned, the results of the study indicated that the cognitive behavioral therapy program which was effective in reducing the level of future anxiety and improving the feeling of self-efficacy among a sample of university youth.
