TAXONOMIC REVIEW OF THE EGYPTIAN PLANTHOPPER GENUS PENTASTRIDIUS (CIXIIDAE, PENTASTRINI) WITH NEW SPECIES AND NEW RECORD

Abstract
This study is complementary to the first taxonomic list of the family Cixiidae in Egypt which comprises (45 species under 13 genera and in 4 tribes) (El Hamouly, 2011, in press). Species of genus Pentastridius Kirschbaum are revised and it is represented in Egypt by 6 species, one of them is a new species (P. rayanensis) and another one is a new record (P. beieri), both of them are from El Fayoum.
A key to species of genus Pentastridius Kirschbaum with emphasis on the male genitalia are included. In addition illustrations, photographs, updating names, synonyms, specimens examined and local distribution are given for the species.
