Geological Studies on the Sakkara Area, Egypt

Abstract
This work deals with the geology of the Sakkara area, 25 km to the
south of Giza Pyramids. It includes a topographic and a geologic map (scale
1 :20,000) for the studied area. A general stratigraphic section representing the
Tertiary and Quaternary exposures in the area was measured, described and
sampled.
The paleontologic investigations together with field observations are the basis
of the established chronostratigraphy and the p aleoenvironmental, tectonic and
