Abstract
An experiment was carried out to determine milk production response of Holstein dairy cows to incremental levels of ZADO@ (it is a patent product contains cellulases, xylanases, protease and alpha amylase) in the diet. The experiment was conducted in June and July of 2010. A complete randomize block design was set up and a repeated measurement in time model used to analyze the data. Forty-eight dairy cows were blocked by panty, days in milk, milk production and body weight randomly allocated to one of the following treatments. TO control diet, Tl 40 g of zado cow/day and T2 60 gm of zado/cow/day. Control diet was based on alfalfa plus 5 kg DM of a commercial concentrate (CP: 17.8%, ADF: 17.8%, NDF: 2500 and ASI--I: 7.1%) offered half at each milking. ZADO (cellulose, xylanase, protease, & alpha amylase) was mixed with the concentrate just before each milking session. Cows body weight and milk production at the beginning of the experiment were 574 42, 565+51, 560+40 and 24.2+2.9, 24.6+3.3, 25+2.3, for T0, T1 and T2, respectively. Cows fed ZADO (Tl and T2) produced 1.5 and 2.3 L extra milk, respectively than control cows (TO=24.6 L; P<0.05). Milk production between ZADO fed cows were not significantly different (26. I vs. 26.9 for Tl and T2, respectively. Supplementation of enzymes also increased (P<0.05) rumen ammonia N in comparison to control group. An increase in acetate and propionate at 4 h post-feeding for T1 —T2 (62.0-65.0 and 17.9.3-19.8.8 mol/100 mol respectively; P<0.05) in comparison to control. In conclusion the 40 g ZADO presented the proper inclusion rate of ZADO
