Dina Ezzat Bakr Saddik;
Abstract
This study included 35 male volunteers, 25 complained of infertility while 10 were normal fertile control. It was carried out at the Andrology Laboratory, Kasr El-Aini University hospitals.
The better portion of the split ejaculate and the second ejaculate , 24 hours apart were subjected to semen analysis by using different methods such as the Maider counting chamber, haemocytometer counting chamber and CASA. A report was given about volume, sperm count, percentage motility, motile sperm count and total motile sperm count. Sperm viability was done using eosin stain. Semen smears were stained by Leishman and Geimsa stain for morphological assessment. Kinematics of sperms were assessed by CASA (Cell Trak /S).
Volunteers were divided into four groups: Group I: oligoasthenozoospermia (n = 13) Group II: isolated oligozoospermia (n = 3) Group III: isolated asthenozoospennia (n = 9) Group IV: normal fertile control (n = 10 )
The results showed :
The volume of the second ejaculate gave statistically significant high values when compared with the better portion of the split ejaculate in all groups.
