OBJECTIVE ASSESSMENT OF GENITAL PROLAPSE USING PELVIC ORGANS PROLAPSE STAGING SYSTEM

Abstract


This study was done to evaluate pelvic organ prolapse quantitative sysem as new system for pelvic organs prolapse classification.
The study was carried out on sixty five patients who were attending gynecologic clinic in Ain Shams Maternity Hospital.
The patients were divided into 4 groups:
- 1st group: included 25 patients, who underwent classical repair.

- 2nd d group: included 20 patients, who underwent pelvic floor repair with vaginal hysterectomy.
- 3rd group: included 10 patients, who underwent abdominal sling for uterine prolapse.
- 4th
group: included 10 patients, who underwent
paravaginal repair.
All the patients were subjected to:
1- History taking including personal history, past history, menstrual history, contraceptive history and history of present illness.
2- General examination and abdominal examination.
3- Local examination by help of Baden staging system and pelvic organ prolapse staging system preoperatively and one month postoperatively.
