Mohammed Ahmed El-Saadany;

Abstract

The current stuoy aimed to detect the relation between level of CRP and features of the coronary culprit lesion in cases of unstable angina. Forty patients with unstable angina were involved in this study. Other ten healthy volunteers were involved in this study as control group.
The subjects were subjected to: history taking, cardiac examination, twelve lead ECG, •serial cardiac enzymes, routine laboratory investigations including ESR, quantitative assay of CRP by ELISA technique. Coronary angiography
was done to all patients.
We had included certain exclusion criteria to avoid false elevation of CRP which are: Q wave and non Q wave Ml, patients with LBBB, Braunwald type A angina, patients with concomitant inflammatory disease, cancer, surgery or
• major trauma in the previous month, patient with thrombotic disorders, dilated cardiomyopathy and valvular heart diseases.
