Abstract

The prevalence of avian Mycoplasmosis in Behera province was studied by both culturing and serological methods. A total of (567) tissue and (529) serum samples were collected from 558 chickens showing respiratory signs.

2- In the 1st experiment:

]-Culturing of 567 tissue samples collected

From the respiratory and reproductive tracts of these chickens, were resulted in isolation of 122 (21.5%) suspected Mycoplasma isolates.

2-Suspected-purified isolates were differentiated biochemically (by glucose fermentation and arginine deamenation) and serologically
by growth inhibition (GI) test into: (111)M.gallisept M.gallinarum and(l)

M.iners.

3-There's a highly significant differences (P<0.01) in the recovery rate

among different groups of chickens. The highest rate of isolation obtained from broilers (25%) followed by layers (19.5%), while the lowest recovery
rate obtained from one-day-old chicks (16.8%).

4- bacteriological examination of (143) tissue samples collected from the same birds to study the role of E.coli in CCRD cases resulted in
isolation of60(41.96%) isolates ofE.coli that are biochemically identified .
