Acompartive study between fractional lasers versus dermabrasion in resurfacing of mature scar
Samy Mohammed Ali Badr;
Abstract
A scar is the legacy of any operation or minor trauma and formed as the result of wound healing. The goal of every physician is to facilitate proper wound healing that will result in an invisible scar. Scars come in all shapes and sizes depending on patient systemic and local factors. a scar usually takes 12 to 18 months to fully mature (Jason and Alester, 2002).
Scars are common complaint among patients of plastic surgeons that affect millions of individuals. They result due to violation of the dermis Once the scar has reached maturation (become soft and white), it should not be expected to undergo further spontaneous changes, however, sometimes the scar is not as refined as might be possible(Bayat et al , 2003)
