Health Promotion, Educational Program for Prima School Children in Rural Area

Abstract


School children constitute a significant and important sector of population who are constantly growing and developing this basic dynamic characteristics accmmts for both their increased vitality and vulnerability and requires specific health promotion in relation to seeking health and use various resources to attain optimum health (Mckenzie and Pingcr 1995).

Across the world 23% of the total population are children between the Age of 6 and 15 years (WHO 1995). Statistical Year-Book (1998) Reported that, in Egypt with a population of 61 million, children are 14.5 million nearly
25% of the total population 90% of them are enrolled of school EL.Decb, ct. al, (1990) stated that as any other national resource our Egyptian young population is a potential capital that should be carefully developed and preserved and this necessitates both a good educational background and good health. And, added that without l1ealth our population will not be productive and without education it will not be skilled.

Health promotion is the process of fostering awareness, innuencing attitudes and identifying alternatives. So that, individuals can make infonned choices and change their behavior to achieve an optimal level of physical and mental health and improve their physical and social environment (Ewles and Sinnett 1999).

Health problems affecting on this age group vary from one place to another. According to a survey study in Egypt
