MINIMUM NUMBER OF HITS FOR DIGITAL CORRELATOR

Abstract

Similar radar in network jams each other when they operate in time. Moreover, each of them may receive the echo of the other in a false position. However, their operation is asynchronous and the received echo is random. Therefore, the researchers added digital conelator to the system to avoid this phenomena. Two concepts, were used: Sliding window and sequential observer. The studying of these two methods cover their performance in steady state which means that the number of hits are vety large which is a vague expression. Our study in this thesis is to calculate the minimum number of hits for each method, required for the conelator to reach steady state operation. Markov process is the mathematical tool used to model the two methods, to evaluate the performance of each. Moreover, we deduce the best criterion in each class to be used
in different operational situations.
