LASER IN SITU KERATOMILEUSIS FOR THE CORRECTION OF HYPEROPIA AND HYPEROPIC ASTIGMATISM
ِAmr Abdel - Azim Habib;
Abstract
Hypermetropia ts by far the commonest of all refractive anomalies. Although there are many techniques available for the treatment of hypermetropia, still most of them are less efficient 111 conecting hypermetropia compared to techniques cotTecting myopia.
LASlJ( is a procedure that combines a lameJiar corneal flap and ablating the underlying cornea with excimer laser. The main problem in hyperopia is the effect of epithelial cell remodeling filling the peripheral gutter created by excimer laser. This was significant with PRK. LASJK is presumed to be advantageous because of the absence or minimal effect of the procedure ol1 epithelial wound healing.
The atm of this work was to determine the efficacy, safety, predictability, and stability of laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) for the correction of hyperopia and hyperopic astigmatism.
