Abstract

The presence of iron and manganese are probably the most common water problem facing consumers. So, the present research work aims at the:
1- Evaluation the effectiveness of hydrogen peroxide in the removal of iron and manganese from water,
2- Determination of the optimal conditions as pH, concentration, contact time to remove iron and manganese from the water,
3- Studying the change of temperature and total dissolved solids by using hydrogen peroxide to remove iron and manganese from water.
The study covered the following points:
• Chapter 1: Introduction & Research Objectives: It includes a general introduction of the importance of water, sources of pollutants. Also, the objectives of this study have been explained.
• Chapter 2: Literature Review: Include a survey about the methods used for heavy metals removal from water.
• Chapter 3: Materials and Methods: This chapter described the chemicals, instruments, methods of analysis, preparation of samples, preparation of stock solution and experimental procedure has been reviewed.
• Chapter 4: Results and Discussion: in this chapter the results for each contact time, pH, concentration of hydrogen peroxide, other parameters has been presented. The summary of results of this study as below:
