Abstract

It was estimated that, Egypt is still suffering from Schistosomiasis, however the prevalence showed decreasing in patient ratio and new infection. Water pollution, contamination with agriculture wastes, different human tools and also industrial wastes which are full of heavy metals, all of these form good organisms for parasites
In the present study, routine enzymes biomarkers and protein tumor marker as α fetoprotein (AFP) in detecting early stage of carcinoma were estimated. In addition, this study worked also on the estimation of complement C3 and C4 levels as immune protein markers to detect the early viral infections (B and C) and follow up to avoid HCC stage.
To achieve this target, 120 serum samples were analyzed. Which were collected from 4 different groups, 30 samples from each:
Group (1): Normal control of healthy persons.
Group (2): Chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) patients.
Group (3): Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) patients.
Group (4): Bilharzias (BILZ) patients.
The results estimated from this study were:
1- There was significant increase in the activities of serum AST, ALT in G2 (HCV), G3(HBV) and G4(BILZ) compared to G1(normal control)at P≤0.05.Also results indicated significant decrease of
