Abstract


Abstract

The current study conducted to investigate the entomofauna associated with faba bean, Vicia faba L. in El-Kharga Oasis, New Valley Governorate. Furthermore, recycle the naturally occurring plant water hyacinth, Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) as a new eco-friendly insecticide. The toxicity of the tested plant extracts carried out on the black cutworm, Agrotis ipsilon (Huf.) and the cowpea aphid, Aphis craccivora Koch. while the biological and biochemical aspects were studied on A. ipsilon only. Then, the safety assessment of test plant extracts toward albino rats to indicate the safety of plant on the mammals.
