MYCOTOXINS IMMUNE RESPONSE AND DISEASES RELATIONSHIP

Mohamed Kamal Abou-Elmagd Rashed;

Abstract

The present study was conducted to determine the relation between aflatoxin contamination of feed and feed ingredients and increasing the incidence of HCC and renal failure.
For a such purpose, the following points were investigated:
1. Mycological examination of 2000 samples of feed and feed ingredients for Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus contamination. The results revealed that 1133 isolates of A. flavus were recovered from tested samples
while 267 isolates of A. parasiticus were recovered from tested samples.
2. The same samples of feed and feed ingredients were tested for aflatoxin
contamination. The results showed that 43.75% of the examined samples carried
aflatoxins. The majority (28.3%) of the positive samples have low levels of
aflatoxins and not reach the permissible limit. 15.45% of the examined samples contained high levels of aflatoxin that may reach from 10 to 100 folds of the
permissible limit.
3. Artificial production of aflatoxin B 1 by Aspergillus parasiticus NRRL 2999 strain on 3 media, the first media was YEs, the second media was YEs
supplemented by sorbic acid at concentration of 0.025% and the third media
was YEs supplemented with P. cresol at concentration of 0.019%. The results revealed that YEs media supplemented with P.
