Abstract

Tuberculosis though once nearly eradicated now poses a major threat to the public's health. It has derived its importance from its

chronicity, infectivity and its need for a long period of treatment. The key to the control of tuberculosis lies in the sustained efforts of the health authorities to find and treat people infected with the tuberculosis. However this sustained efforts is not enough for the achievement of world's control of tuberculosis. Treatment ofTB is long and tedious and the affected individual must comply to it.Several variables bear on the patient's compliance, namely personal motivation, perception of vulnerability, beliefs about the nature of the disease its controlling or preventing, as well as the quality of health
instruction and Facility to access resources and the of services offered.
