Abstract


Screening mammography decrease mortality rate due to breast cancer up to 36% than without screening so any woman should strictly follow the early detection program which include monthly breast self-examination starting at age 20, clinical breast examination every 3 years by an expertiseand annual mammography starting at age of 40 years old.
As age is the most relevant risk factor for breast cancer. So, There is no upper age limit to breast cancer screening guidelines as long as a woman is in good health. Women with a family history of breast cancer should talk with their health care providers about initiating screening earlier.
Mammography screening attracted attentions to early precancerous lesions that have been considered before as an accompanying finding in the presence of invasive breast carcinomas
Mammography screening also caused an increased detection of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) which accounts for up to 25% of all newly diagnosed breast cancer cases in screening regions
