Abstract


Abnormal uterine bleeding is a common gynecological problem that has a negative impact on the female's life. Medical treatment could be used and avoid radical surgeries. The medical treatment efficacy will depend on the receptors present in the endometrium. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the expression of ER-α and PR expression in the endometrial glands and stroma.
Sixty women were included in this study. Their age was between 20-40 years. They were divided into 2 groups; control group and case group. Control group included 30 women undergoing hysteroscopy for infertility work up. Case group included 30 women in the child-bearing period attending the clinic complaining of abnormal uterine bleeding or patients undergoing hysterectomy due to the abnormal uterine bleeding. Approval from the Medical Ethics Committee was obtained. Informed written consent was obtained from all patients.
