Maternal and fetal outcomes in women undergoing caesarean section under general and spinal anesthesia

Hanan Mohammed Ateeyah;

Abstract

Delivery by CS is becoming more frequent and is one of the most common major operative procedures performed worldwide. The number of operations performed annually worldwide is estimated by about 18.5 million cases.
The type of anaesthesia used and the way by which it is managed are considered important elements in determining the outcome of caesarean section as both general and spinal anaesthesia used in caesarean section have advantages and disadvantages, so there is no completely perfect way of anaesthesia to perform.
