Bone Grafting Versus Non-Grafting In Management of Benign Bony Cystic Lesions A Comparative Study

Abstract


We have conducted this study at the department of orthopedic surgery in Ain Shams University hospitals to evaluate and compare results of bone reconstruction using autologous bone grafting after extended curettage of benign cystic lesions versus leaving the bony cavity without reconstruction. The study was done on 40 patients with benign cystic lesions, divided into two groups according to the method of reconstruction using either autologous bone grafting in 20 patients (group A) or non-grafting in 20 patients (group B) during the period from January 2015 till january 2017. The cases have been followed up until january 2018.The mean age of the patients was 16.4 years in group A and was 17.9 years in group B. The patients were 24 males
