Seminal Plasma Clusterin as a Biomarker for Spermatogenesis in Varicocele Patients before and after Varicocelectomy
Maged Samir Daruish;
Abstract
everal hypotheses have been proposed for causing infertility in men with varicocele, but oxidative stress seems to play a central role.
The effect of varicocele on semen parameters has been known as stress pattern. Studies showed significant difference between men with and without varicocele regarding concentration, motility and morphology.
Clusterin is a highly glycosylated protein that was discovered in the rete testis of ram, with the function of cellular aggregation. It was found later to be produced by sertoli cells in large amounts.
