The Role of Non- Invasive Testing In the Distinction between Ischemic and Non-Ischemic Cardiomyopathy

Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between sensitivity of dobutamine stress echocardiography and carotid artery ultrasound based on confirmation from coronary angiography in the distinction between ischemic and non-ischemic etiology in patients with clinically unexplained dilated cardiomyopathy.
Seventy-six consecutive patients presented to the echo-cardiography laboratory of Ain Shams University hospitals in the period from January 2014 till August 2016, with signs and symptoms of heart failure of non-identifiable cause were enrolled in the study after exclusion of subjects with definite history and /or diagnosis of coronary artery disease, a history and findings of primary valvulopathy, pericardial disease, congenital heart disease, endocrine disorders except diabetes mellitus and infiltrative myopathies,women during pregnancy and 12 months after delivery and end-stage hypertensive heart disease.
