Neutrophil to Lymphocyte Ratio in Ischemic Stroke
Menat-Allah Mohamed Khaled Lashin;
Abstract
This study recruited 75 patients with the diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke as a case group whom were divided into 3 equal subgroups; large artery atherosclerosis stroke group, cardioembolic stroke group and small vessel occlusion (lacunar) stroke group. In addition to 25 healthy age matched and sex matched individuals as a control group.
All cases were selected from Ain Shams University hospitals during the period from December 2017 to June 2018.
In the current study, we found that NLR >1.34 is sensitive and reliable test to predict acute ischemic stroke (with a sensitivity of 89.33% and specificity of 72% and accuracy reached 88.6%).
