The effect of septorhinoplasty on nasal function

Ahmed Saudy Kotb;

Abstract

he nose inhabits the central position of the face and is often the most dominant part of the facial profile, and nasal profile aesthetics may have profound emotional and sociocultural significance for patients. Hence, the nose, despite being a tiny organ, affects the overall facial appearance.
Rhinoplasty is among the most commonly performed procedures by the facial plastic surgeon but also is one of the most difficult.
Manipulation of the nose is a challenge because of the varied forms. The surgeon must not only comprehend the three dimensional structural aspects of the nose but also understand the properties and behavior of different tissue types to achieve long-term predictable results.
