Colour Stability, Water Sorption and Surface Roughness of Manual vs. CAD/CAM Material for Functional Mock-Ups

Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study was designed to investigate the color stability, roughness and water sorption of two commonly available provisional restorative materials namely: CAD/CAM and Auto cure Bis-Acrylic through immersion in different solutions: Coffee, Mouth wash and Distilled water as control group.
Forty two specimens of the two tested provisional materials were prepared. Twenty one discoid specimen were prepared from CAD/CAM Temp Composite (CCT) with dimension 10mm diameter and 2mm thickness discs were cut by Isomer 4000*.The other twenty one discoid specimens of the Auto-Cure Bis Acrylic Temp (ACT) were prepared by packing the mixed material into a specially prepared disc shaped Teflon mold with the same size according to manufacture instructions. All slices were then finished using a special finishing and polishing kit according to manufacturer instructions using straight low speed hand piece attached to an electric motor with direction of rotation forward.
