A DEVELOPED WORKFLOW FOR USING FIBER-OPTIC TELEMETRY-ENABLED COILED TUBING IN PRODUCTION ENHANCEMENT
Ahmed Ibrahim Youssef El-Attar;
Abstract
Formation damage is an undesirable operational problem that can occurthroughout the lifecycleof oil and gas wells. Therefore, addressing this issue requires more efforts on identifying the damage mechanism and quantifying the skin factor (S). Well test analysis is one of the basic tools used to quantify skin. The pressure data used in this analysis is conventionally acquired in downhole recording mode (DHR). This study proposes a new workflow for real-time pressure data acquisition for well test analysis using fiber-optic telemetry-enabled coiled tubing. Thus, eliminating the drawbacks of the DHR mode of inaccurate and longer tests, and enabling performing a stimulation job in the same run.
