Abstract

Pasteurellamultocidawhich is the common cause of respiratory disease in small and large ruminants causing high economic losses. So the aim of these study is rapid identification of Pasteurellamultocida in both small and large ruminants and perform phenotyping and virulence genotyping, this study succeeded in isolating a total of 36P. multocida isolates from total sample of both large and small ruminants 451 samples with incidence (8.0%). Lung tissues showed the highest percentage of P. multocida isolation 23 isolate from 189sample with incidence (12.2%),followed by nasal swabs 13 isolate from 262 sample with incidence (5.0%).Incidence of Pasteurellamultocida in large ruminants (cows and buffalos) showed that twenty-three isolates were isolated with an incidence 8.7% (23/262) and small ruminants (sheep and goat) showed that thirteen isolates were isolated with an incidence 6.9% (13/189) .These isolates were confirmed microscopically to be P.multocidaby staining with Gram's stains,
