SOME PROBLEMS IN DYNAMICS OF ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTING FLUIDS
Mahmoud EL-Hassan Mahmoud Oaf;
Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to investigate some problems in dynamics of electrically conducting
fluids.
The thesis consists of five chapters:
In chapter I,
We presented an introduction to the following topics.
(I) Basic equations
(2) Classification of fluids. (3) Magnetofluiddynamics. (4) Couple stresses in fluids. (5) Flow in a porous medium.
(6) Rotating fluid dynami,..c._:,s.
(7) Survey on Rheology and some Egyptian works on the flow of electrically conducting non- Newtonian fluids.
In chapter II,
We investigate one problem:
(Free convective magnetohydrodynamic flow and heat transfer in a viscoelastic incompressible fluid confined between a long vertical wavy wall and a parallel flat wall.)
In this work we study a two-dimensional free convection flow of a viscoelastic non-
Newtonian incompressible fluid between a long vertical wavy wall and a parallel flat wall. The fluid under consideration is electrically conducting and obeying Walter's liquid B1 model. A w1iform magnetic field is assumed to be applied perpendicular to the flat wall. Using the perturbation technique subject to a set of appropriate boundary conditions we solved the system of non-linear partial differential equations governing the fluid flow and heat transfer.
