Abstract


The wideadoptionofcloudcomputingisleadingtoanincreasein
the numberofdatacentersandphysicalserversworldwide.Eco-
logical communitiesarecallingforthedatacentersto"gogreen"
and hence,energye ciencyhasbecomeacrucialconcerninmodern
data centers.Dynamicvirtualmachine(VM)consolidationisone
of thee ectiveapproachesendorsedtoachieveenergye ciencyin
cloud datacentershostingthousandsofservers.Livemigrationis
a corefeatureenablingvirtualmachineconsolidation.However,live
migration isacostlyoperationimposingenergyandperformance
overhead.Thereby,ane cientdynamicvirtualmachineconsolidate
should considerthecostduetolivemigration.
