Studies on hoof conformation in relationship to different hoof lesions in working donkeys

Abstract
This study was carried out on 93 donkeys working in brick kilns in Giza Governorate of different ages, sex and body weights. These donkeys were divided into 20 apparently healthy donkeys without any signs of lameness and hoof abnormality. Another 73 donkeys were with abnormal hoof capsule conformation and lameness. The objective of this study was to describe the external hoof capsule characteristics for normal and abnormal donkeys. The incidence of abnormal hoof capsule conformation and the relationship between the hoof capsule abnormality and different lesions within the foot in the donkeys
