Eman Hany Hassan Abdelnaby;

Abstract

This study was carried out during the period from December 2017 to April 2018 at the Laboratory Animals Unit of Animal Behaviour and Management, Department of Veterinary Hygiene and Management at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University.

The objective of the conducted study was to:
1- Construct and validate an aluminum chloride-induced Alzheimer's disease (AD) model in rats.

2- Evaluate the mitigative effects of different medicinal plants (caffeine, chia extract, and Lepidium Sativum extract) on mood-like behaviour and learning abilities in AD rat model (through monitoring the behavioural, biochemical and histopathological alterations).

3- Assess the protective effects of different medicinal plants (caffeine, chia extract, and Lepidium Sativum extract) on mood-like behaviour and learning ability in albino male rats (through monitoring the behavioural, biochemical and histopathological alterations).
