(EFFECT OF BIOFILM FILLING RATES, VARIOUS CYCLES DURATION AND ORGANIC LOADING RATES ON ORGANIC AND NUTRIENTS REMOVAL IN SEQUENCING BATCH BIOFILM REACTOR (SBBR

Ahmed Saeed Moustafa Elhawary;

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to find the benefits of boosting the conventional SBR batch system by using a moving bed media as it converts the bacterial suspended growth system to a hybrid system, which improved the sewage treatment efficiency. This study will show the effect of various carriers filling rate on the performance of a lab-scale reactor in the terms of biodegradable organic and nutrient removal. Another object is to optimize the nitrification denitrification process by controlling various operating conditions within the reactor. The study was carried out in Imyay WWTP, Qalubia – Egypt to Study the efficiency of the SBBR system in different circumstances
